Permanent Project Manager Vacancy – London – Salary Between £55000 – £65000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Project Manager to be based in London on a permanent basis. This role will be too coordinate and manage project teams in the delivery of Group IT projects to support business initiatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading project teams of Business & System Analysts, Technical Leads, Developers, Testers, IT Ops and business sponsors to deliver initiatives, managing project planning, administration, governance, communication and reporting.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities for the Project Manager

  • Lead multi-disciplined technology and business teams through the full life cycle of project delivery
  • Motivate and influence project team members to achieve high levels of productivity and quality performance
  • Plan, track and communicate progress on projects
  • For IT Projects involving development teams, use Agile methodology to run development activities (e.g. facilitate backlog planning, sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives and organise regular demos on progress back to the business)
  • For project governance, where appropriate use traditional activity planning, risk & issue management, project communications and reporting techniques
  • Manage and influence project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are understood and achieved
  • Closely manage vendor delivery, scope and overall quality on day to day bases with strong attention to detail

 Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with people and teams around a truly global business, influencing and energising them towards successful project delivery
  • Able to lead project teams to collaborate on decision making, prioritisation and problem solving to achieve project objectives
  • Utilize various project management, business analysis and technical skills concepts to analyse complex business problems to be solved with technical and non-technical solutions
  • Requires close attention to detail in tracking project tasks and status, using relevant project tracking tools, e.g. Jira, Roadmunk, Basecamp etc
  • Experience in managing and interacting with both local and virtual project teams and comfortable working in a geographically spread and matrix environment.
  • General knowledge of B2C e-commerce business practices and processes, relational databases, and web technologies, ideally in the travel industry

Education and Experience

  • Experience in Agile / Scrum development and Prince2 is a plus
  • Experience with MS-Office suite in particular MS-Project, Power Point, Visio, Excel and QA Tools
