We are seeking a Finance Manager to provide a financial management and assurance service to our client’s growing digital services business, including business plan submissions, management reporting, project accounting, forecasting, bid support, financial control and business case modelling.

About the role:

  • Own and ensure accuracy of financial actuals, forecasts and budgets
  • Help develop and deliver the business plan, ensuring a coherent end-to-end business plan
  • Deliver required reporting – monthly accounts, risk & opportunities, leadership project review packs
  • Ensure all business proposals are financially and strategically sound
  • Lead and ensure a strong governance framework is adhered to and is compliant with finance policies manual, accounting standards and business management framework
  • Ensure all required month end related transactions are entered in accordance with agreed governance principles
  • Ensure all finance contractual requirements are correctly complied with – these include those on overarching framework contracts
  • Work with the management team to develop/execute the business strategy & growth agenda
  • Support business strategy development and potential Mergers & Acquisition identification

About you:

  • Fully qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ experience, preferably with a defence background
  • Strong financial analytical and presentation skills
  • Financial acumen to provide advice and support for business development, including financial modelling and will challenge alignment to business strategy, realism of opportunities and associated investment and the likelihood and level of financial returns versus risk
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycle processes and financial governance requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bid/proposal techniques and best practice
  • Business Systems experience (SAP/BPC preferable)
  • Experience as a finance business partner engaging with non-finance staff and providing decision support to stakeholders
  • Experience with agile IT programmes and licensing models would be beneficial
