Our client, an IT and Audio/Video integration organisation that designs and deploys complex integrated systems is seeking an AV/IT Client Support Technician to join their support team specialising in AV and control systems. This is a senior role providing escalated (tier 2/3) technical support for a wide range of technology.
About the role
- Troubleshooting and support of audio visual, control and automation, telecommunications, satellite and IT systems
- On-site testing and commissioning of AV systems
- Performing regular maintenance and update tasks
- Training end-users in bespoke systems
- Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior members of the support team
- Collaborating with Engineering and Sales departments regarding design and delivery of new systems
- Writing and maintaining documentation
- Working occasional rota-based weekend shifts to fulfil 24/7/365 support requirements. Shift pattern to be discussed with interested applicants.
About you
- Demonstrable experience in providing technical support for a wide variety of technologies
- Ability to read system diagrams, identify and troubleshoot signal flow
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, switches, routers, audio and video over IP protocols
- Familiarity with commercial control systems and/or home automation
- Experience with deploying and configuring Crestron control systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Windows Server
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, independence and the ability/willingness to travel internationally, and a desire to learn
