We are seeking an Aircraft Engineer Technician to ensure that the Merlin aircraft/equipment maintenance and trials flying are carried out efficiently and to quality in accordance with regulatory and corporate procedures.

About the role:

  • Carry out maintenance across the AW101 Merlin MK3/3A, MK4/4A aircraft
  • Flight servicing and fault diagnosis across a multitude of Avionic, Mechanical Systems and Aircraft structures
  • Ensure all operational requirements are met by producing serviceable aircraft in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner
  • Carry out the turnaround and recovery of aircraft in multiple Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and environments
  • Follow technical information and procedures to carry out component removal and replacement, completing all necessary documentation in accordance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) policy
  • Ensure the task is complete to a very high standard and in a safe logical manner on multi-million-pound equipment
  • Flight servicing and leading teams in line operations in a range of extreme conditions

About you:

  • Apprenticeship in an aircraft engineering discipline, or equivalent experience in respective field
  • BTEC Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in engineering or equivalent
  • Evidence pack of recent Merlin work/tasks and proof of previous Merlin roles and work covered
  • Merlin Qualification courses or on aircraft/equipment type or associated systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK Military Aircraft documentation procedures
  • Familiarity with specific aircraft maintenance systems; GoldEsp & online Technical Manuals CIETP
  • Incorporated Engineer/Engineering Technician status
  • Relevant aircraft technical/supervisory experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Experience working on a range of systems including, flying controls, hydraulics, lubrication/oil cooling transmission, power plant, gas turbine engines, landing gear, emergency fire and flotation, communication, fuel and high-pressure air starting systems
  • Very adaptable and experience working in stressful and extremely demanding environments, including at height and confined spaces
  • Major experience working in an environment that requires extremely high-level tool control

Candidates must be a British Passport holder for SC clearance.
