We are currently recruiting for a Head of Site Reliability to be based in London on a permanent basis. This role offers a fantastic salary of between the ranges of £100,000 – £120,000 per annum. The Head of Site Reliability Engineering will lead a team of talented engineers and will be responsible for some of the most critical platform infrastructure across the Group.

The successful Head of Site Reliability Engineering will be responsible for:

  • Defining and delivering an overall Site Reliability Engineering strategy and vision
  • Evangelizing a DevOps culture, ensuring that all engineers own their services’ infrastructure, availability & performance whilst we foster a collaborative environment with the software engineering teams to accelerate the velocity of code release
  • Defining standards for infrastructure as code, monitoring as code, everything as code
  • Leading the collaboration with Software Engineering, Group Security and Group Architecture to improve the resilience and overall service health of the systems
  • Performing incident and root cause analysis for all events that degrade the performance, availability, security or cost of our underlying platform infrastructure
  • Ensuring transactional growth during peak trading periods is enabled through automated scaling and that all services have sufficient availability monitoring, performance monitoring, logging, alerting and cost control
  • Launching internal platforms and infrastructure services to help our teams move faster and our workloads to run more efficiently. Leveraging technologies such as, CloudFormation, Ansible, Kubernetes to improve engineering velocity as this accelerates to a microservices driven architecture
  • Improving platform resilience, self-healing and operational rigor by leading post-mortems, conducting readiness assessments and leveraging chaos engineering techniques to continually harden our services.
  • You will mentor the professional development of each SRE by helping them build and execute personal development plans that map to our organization goals. Recruit and hire talented SREs
