Our client, a FTSE-100 company and the global market leader in it’s field, are looking for a Technology/ Infrastructure Architect to develop the portfolio of technologies.
As Infrastructure Architect you will:
- To act as the ‘Project Architect’
- To guide projects through the Technical Governance process
- Be responsible for the overall quality of infrastructure design across the estate including hardware configurations
- To provide technical leadership to 3rd parties and internal teams, providing a high level design during the Definition Stage of a project and sign off detailed design
- To review and ratify all quotes around infrastructure
- Maintain up to date knowledge on industry trends, standards and opportunities
- Contribute to methodology improvement and best practices within Solutions Delivery
- Contribute to the creation of the architecture strategy
- Participate in design reviews and technical project issue management
The ideal Infrastructure Architect candidate will possess the following background:
- Degree qualified
- Must have held a certification in Microsoft, Cisco, Novell, etc
- Architect on large projects, in a global organisation
- Demonstrated experience of working in a retained IT organisation working with multiple 3rd party suppliers who are responsible for delivering / maintaining solutions
- Experience of working on projects involving Microsoft, Oracle, Linux, Citrix, VMware
- Experience of implementing resiliency strategies
- TOGAF qualified or equivalent would be ideal but not essential
- Strong knowledge of data centres, comms rooms, 3rd party hosting vendors
- Knowledge of comms protocols e.g. VOIP, DNS etc.
Strong understanding of at least 3 of the following: Microsoft AD, Exchange, SAN Technology, LAN/WAN, Information Security, public facing internet presence e.g. public EDI, understanding of Oracle e-business suite As the client is going through a number of changes globally this is an exciting role for the ideal candidate looking to further their career as an architect.
